A Blog from New America's Open Technology Institute

Remember how the Internet community stopped SOPA?

Come on out to Irish Whiskey this Thursday at 8pm for the official launch of the Internet Defense League (IDL), a network of people and organizations committed to defending the open Internet. The goal of IDL is to sound the alarm quickly to millions of users whenever the Internet is in peril.

Since those who took part in defeating SOPA, PIPA & ACTA are real-life superheroes, we are extremely excited to launch the IDL in parallel with the release of the new Batman movie. In addition, we will also debut our new “cat signal,” which will be blasted into the sky and all over the Internet.

Join us as we celebrate the launch in cities all over the world.

Irish Whiskey is located at 1207 19th Street, NW in Washington, DC.
